Decorating for Christmas 2011 Part 1
Decorating our home for Christmas was an adventure. We didn’t bring decorations with us, except for a holiday table cloth. Our apartment is too small to accomodate a tree. So Abi and I decided to go to a wreath making workshop sponsored by WICE. The instructor is an expat who moved here with her French husband 20 years ago. Since she couldn’t work because of visa requirements, she developed a holiday decorating business. She brought supplies like ribbon and ornaments back from the States and sold her products at holiday markets. She also decorates the American Embassy for the holidays each year.

This is a picture of the demonstration. We learned to make baskets, wreaths, and do things like make frosted fruit.
These are the wreaths Abi and I made. Can you guess who made which one? We ended up hanging them on either side of the front door with ribbons. They balanced each other. We didn’t want to put any nails into the door. We saved all the goodies to use again next year.
